Why does the UK seem to be the testing place for all this in Europe? Why is the most Orwellian stuff happening over there? I would have thought maybe Germany or Sweden would be first to go full 1984, but the UK always tops it

Can’t see this tbh. Plenty small businesses, cafes and restaurants etc use supermarkets to buy their ingredients so what happens with the carbon allowance there?
