      I mean, I’m sure they have meetings about this sort of thing, everyone agrees on the public message to be delivered and five minutes later Trump sees a shiny object and goes completely off the script he probably was insisting on six minutes ago.

      Three days ago Trump said he wouldnt strike Venezuela and Rubio assured us that the US ability to strike in Venezuela was bogus fake news.

      1. SNAP benefits being taken from children, diabled and the poorest amongst us.
      2. Unpaid Federal employees will be lining up at the food banks with those dependent on SNAP
      3. That the loss of supplementatl ACA subsidies will cause some to become ininsured.
      4. Mickey Mouse Johnson has put the house on an exteneded (paid) vacation.

      Just yesterday evening, not even twelve full hours ago, I saw a headline quoting Trump as saying that there were no plans to strike Venezuela. My immediate thought was, „well, guess they’re planning to strike Venezuela.“ Just once I’d like to be cynical *and wrong.*

      I was taught as a young man that you never pick on someone much weaker than you. If you hit them and you win, you look like a weakling and a bully. But if you hit them and they win, you got beat up by someone perceived to be weaker than you. The better option is to use your words and influence and the systemic rules and norms within which we live to make things work for everyone

      They recently forced all Venezuelans here under protective status to return to Venezuela because they’ve deemed it „no longer dangerous“ yet the country is still on the no fly list for being too dangerous. And now they’re going to start bombing it??? After saying its a safe country???
