I’m not sure how strongly I feel about either way it goes on EV’s, but I predict those tariffs are coming off. At the very least in part.
I hope at least we get some production of them here. I know everyone says the same thing, but I don’t see how China and Canada can hit reset without it.
This article specifically mentions they are having deep talks about it.
China is a few years away from attempting an invasion of Taiwan and becoming the next pariah state. Canada will have no choice but to put sanctions on them, as we did with Russia. Right now China’s only goal is to intertwine themselves with our economy so as to maximize the inconvenience to Canada those sanctions will be to make.
My suggestion is that we don’t let that happen.
