Hi r/politics, on Thursday night, the president of the Heritage Foundation — the MAGA right’s leading think tank — welcomed an open Nazi into his political coalition.
You might think this is an exaggeration, but it’s not. The Nazi in question here, podcaster Nick Fuentes, has described Adolf Hitler as “[really fucking cool](https://www.texastribune.org/2023/10/10/nick-fuentes-texas-meeting/)” and said “perfidious Jews” must “[be given the death penalty](https://x.com/karol/status/1984244275899728379)” after “we take power.”
And on Thursday, Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts [released a video](https://x.com/KevinRobertsTX/status/1983958755613262324) defending this person’s inclusion in polite-right politics: describing Fuentes not as a hate-monger to be banished from the decent right, but as a coalition member whose view of Jews-as-evil-traitors should be politely debated.
Remember if 1 Nazi is having dinner with 9 other people there are 10 Nazis at the table.

Of course. Nazis are a key element of the GOP coalition. 30-40% of GOP staffers under 30 are fans of Fuentes.

I’m curious to know if there were people out there who didn’t already know whose swastika bedecked heritage the Heritage Foundation is really designed to preserve.
I knew it was them just based on the headline! The Heritage foundation should have been broken up and it’s leaders charged with sedition many years ago.
If we make it through this as an intact country we have to stop being cowardly and remove these kinds of people from society, If their goal is to destroy our society we have no obligation to tolerate their presence.

Even if you are willing to discount genocide and war, the fact is, Hitler died by his own hand, leaving Germany in ruins, occupied for years, partitioned for decades and with less territory now than it had before the beginning of Nazi aggressions. Even if you excuse the evil, as a leader, he was a huge f*cking looser who cost his country a huge price.
