Remember, this report is a lie & the same lie every single year. It does not measure „happiness,“ it measures proximity to certain social & economic policy goals.
There is no standard nor even wildly accepted mechanism for measuring „happiness“ & certainly not *anything* which comes close to measuring it on a cross-cultural scale.

For everyone confused about Israel, despite all the conflict, life is pretty good for the average person.
It’s basically a western standard of living with a traditional societal set up. Most people live in a community, rather than as atomised individuals like you get in the West. Most people have strong family connections, receiving support from close and distant family members. Society is generally pretty solidary, most people are willing to help each other out for little benefit.
And that’s before we start talking about how easy it is to have a family here, you get huge amounts of support from the state and there’s special bank accounts designed to allow grandparents to save money for their grandchildren.
It’s also incredibly safe, crime is pretty low and terrorism is statistically insignificant unless you live in the West Bank. Just as an example it’s pretty normal to see 5/6 year old kids traveling alone on the bus to school.

Imagine if Israel was not surrounded by religious psychos in the middle east and was an island like Iceland. Probably would be #1 in happiness index

Seeing all the people melting 🫠 because Israel is a happy country for many years in a row is freaking hilarious!
We have a big sense of community, solidarity, togetherness, shared destiny, pride in the jewish country who was basically a miracle. Despite all wars many Israelis prefer not flying out because they feel safest in Israel.
When the war started we needed to fly in tons of planes with people who left everything they were doing and came back. Despite rockets in the sky. This is Israel for you.
As for the haters? Keep hating, keep lying, keep your witch hunt, we’re happy, we’re fabulous and we could not care less about the world opinion.
