      Hmm, obvious next question which isn’t addressed in the article is to what extent are these statistics influenced by an increasing availability and de-stigmatization of mental health care services? Would be interested to see a more in depth analysis which takes that into account.

      Probably because more people are now seeking help. I have had two students who went to psychiatrists for help. One of them was in middle school and she spent all summer studying in her room (like 7 to 10 hrs daily). She went to the doctor for „depression“ and was prescribed some meds that her mom didn’t buy 😅. Instead the mom encouraged her to go out and get some sun. She has been doing well since then.
