That’s not a female figure, that’s a person in a short dress. Could just as easily be one of the members of the British military that wandered off base.

  2. Didn’t they have anything better to do with the money?

Why assume that the usual stick figures are male? Its not like they had a dick. And what makes these ones „female“? The skirt?

  3. Hmm figures in dresses promoting gender equality..idk, I guess it’s symbolic? Kind of a waste of money

In Berlin they have couples (straight/gay/lesbian) figures. That would probably be more symbolic and send a stronger message and create a discussion (visibility)

  4. The traffic lights were going to be changed anyway, it didn’t cost them anything to make this change. It doesn’t solve any problems but it didn’t create any.

Meanwhile, the TRNC has a 100% male government; president, speaker of the parliament all male; All mayors male except of a single one.

While we are still waiting for timer countdowns on traffic lights..🚦 I guess “diversity” is more important than safety.

  7. As long as it wasn’t more expensive than the ones with male figures. Equality matters.

They were asked to put timers on traffic lights. They ignored our request and instead they did this? Inclusivity is good and all, but how is this going to prevent so many road crashes they create on a weekly basis because of the confusion surrounding cameras??
