Nice reaction from Ford, calming down that flame torch of an American ambassador.

Shame we are stuck with him (ambassador) – while he could be declared persona non grata, that would set Trump & MAGA off on another tantrum and we’d be faced with even more sanctions….

I’m not a Ford fan but this feels like the perfect time to say, *“Come say it to my face. It was my ad, I’m the guy you should be talking to.“*

      > „The cheese slipped off the cracker — I get it — you’re ticked off.“

It’s very difficult for me to dislike Doug Ford as a person, policy and politics aside. He has _folksy_ down to a science. And it comes across as his genuine personality shining through. Whenever I listen to him in situations like this, I can’t help but grin at the expressions he uses. That ability to provoke a smile probably colours many folks‘ impression of him.

Certainly not the normal dialogue and tone for international relations, but maybe strange and trying times call for that kind of different.

That isn’t going to happen. Nor is Trump himself ever going to change. Our politicians seriously need to give up on trying to change that and move forward with the new reality.

    5. I think it just shows you how awful Hoekstra (and the Trump admin as a whole) is, that it’s really impossible not to take Doug Ford (of all people)’s side in this.

If you want to talk about behaviour unbecoming of someone in such a high diplomatic position, this is it.

Hoekstra is a piece of shit gaslighter. Declare him persona non grata, then request someone else with a little more respect
