I wish I could get foreign countries to give me 40 billion while I claim I’m libertarian… but.. I guess I’m just not good at being evil.

imagine a very financially irresponsible person racking up credit card debt. that was argentina before milei. after milei that same person is finally starting to cut costs and fix their credit but the decades of overspending were too much to catch up on and the compounding interest payments are just getting out of reach. a 40b bailout from america should be encouraged. every other country’s economists are watching closely at argentina to see if you do the right thing take the right steps if it will payoff or if it is truly hopeless.

He’s only there because of TRUMP’S INTERFERENCE.
Edit: Did China offer Argentina 40 BILLION DOLLARS, but ONLY if Milei stayed in power? No, that was TRUMP.

Good to know that „America First“ is more about sending funds to other countries than it is about: Feeding US citizens, housing US citizens, school lunches for children, medical attention for US citizens, food prices, insurance costs, children’s cancer research, etc.

There’s a lot about the man I don’t like but also being pragmatic unsavory things had to be cut, sometimes starting from scratch is the best way of fixing things.

It’s not libertarian anymore since Uncle Sam bailed them out. Now it’s Libertarian*.
Edit to add: Uncle Sam (aka the American Taxpayer) gave them $40 billion. The entire budget of USAID was $35 Billion. Hold on to that rage you’re feeling. You’ll need it for what comes next.

Christ nobody here knows what a currency exchange is. They got 40 billion USD, we got the equivalent in their Peso.
The net „loss“ is zero.

At this rate, whatever the polls say I’m just gonna assume the opposite is true.
