The NDP has the same problem as the Dems down south. They reshaped their base to be upper middle class or upper class voters who care most about niche identity issues and obscure social philosophy theories rather than focusing primarily on union/worker power, wages, costs of living and primarily economic issues rather than social ones.
Identity politics like those pushed by the left over the last decade are toxic to a majority of voters, but the political left refuse to change course.

it’s important to recognize how much working class votes they lost to the conservatives. often, when discussing the party’s problems online, you have entrenched interests denying that fact or saying it’s not a problem even if it was true.

The NDP doesn’t have the benefit of facebook and youtube algorithms that push content like Andrew Tate and Joe Rogan and Jordon Peterson. Progressively minded folks have an uphill battle to get their messages out.

Facebook is firmly a right-wing platform: [After Mark Zuckerberg told President Trump that Meta would invest $600 billion by 2028, the CEO confessed to the president that he ‚wasn’t sure what number [Trump] wanted to go with.‘](https://www.pcmag.com/news/zuckerberg-caught-in-revealing-hot-mic-moment-during-white-house-dinner)
Working class voters with brains will realize Conservatives offer them worse than nothing.
The question is whether NDP politicians with brains will be able to shape the party in a way that welcomes them back.
