*On October 25, 2025, in the territory of the Kemerovo region of the Russian Federation, a vehicle was destroyed by an explosion. Behind the wheel was Lieutenant Colonel Veniamin Vladimirovich Mazherin, an officer of the Russian OMON involved in war crimes committed in the Kyiv region during Russia’s occupation in 2022. The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine had identified Mazherin in April 2022 among members of the so-called “Obereg” group — Russian security units responsible for mass atrocities and crimes against civilians in the Kyiv region. Now justice has been delivered to one of the perpetrators.*
