Pete Hegseth’s Department of Defense is reportedly directing military officials to sign non-disclosure agreements.

Three U.S. officials told Reuters that the order extends to personnel connected to the Trump administration’s lethal strikes on vessels in the Caribbean—attacks the administration claims targeted ships smuggling drugs from Venezuela.

Why are NDA’s allowed? Every time I hear „NDA“ it seems to be only ever used to cover up horrible shit.

If only the military had some way of classifying information so that only vetted and approved people were somehow cleared to access it.

Most of them already sign NDAs due to clearances…this is likely just due to his wanting to plug leaks.

    5. Transparency and accountability in Government is an anathema to this Administration.

Hey Whiskey Pete, NDAs are not enforceable when used to hide illegal activities.

I will be very happy to see this traitor spend the rest of his life in Leavenworth.

Top officials having to sign is kinda more than sus, it doesn’t sound like Peter wants to spend his life behind bars looking at other men peters.😂

NDAs in addition to classification? That’s a sign some shady shit is being covered up.

The guy obsessed with hot muscular soldiers is making military personnel sign nda’s?

Sexual harassment lawsuits on the way any day now

The only possible reason he would force them to sign a NDA is to hide what a flaming gay man he is. Many people are saying it.

Lmao Pete basically is telling people “guys we’ve gotta make changes… let’s continue the war crimes and imperialism, but let’s try and stop it from leaking to the wider public.” So essentially… same old thing, different admin.

Classification authority has much stronger weight and already exists. NDAs can’t cover for anything that is criminal, so this does absolutely nothing.

Trump got away with a lot of criminal behavior in the ’80s because of NDAs, but these are generals and service members, not his random underage rape victims.

    13. They’re signed under duress and are unlawful. Sign them and then do what you want. This idiot’s days on the job are numbered anyway.

No see it’s *not* because I’m going to ask them to do *illegal* things, it’s because the things I’m going to ask them to do are *so legal* it would *blow your mind*

      (Hoovers up another rail)

Does he not understand how security clearances work?

      Oh silly me. He doesn’t.

You don’t need a goddamn NDA for the military. You’re not gonna take the military and turn them on us to steal our country. It is not gonna happen.

Except ndas don’t apply to illegal activity… So it’s a fear mongering move

    18. Rude-Cut-2231 on

Not only are NDAs hard to enforce, but they are completely invalid as a means to hide illegal activity.

    19. NDA’s are void if something illegal is going on. It does not prevent you from reporting illegal activity. So if an underage girl is raped, and the parents and girl are paid to keep their mouth shut and they sign an NDA. That NDA is void. They can report and keep the money.

I hope that if we manage to get out of this situation we convict every one of these motherfuckers for treason. Pete’s trial and tears during that trial will be a joy to watch. Set yourself up for how many times he says “I was just following orders.”

Hmmm, where have we heard that before…

    21. NDA’s are not binding on criminal acts. I wish Kegsbreath all the luck in the world when Nuremberg 2 trials begin. May he get exactly what he so richly deserves.
