I hope Canada considers expelling Hoekstra as a potential response to future issues. Emphasize that it is specifically about him, and that they are welcome to send someone else.

This is the kind of comment by Ford one might read something into.
Honestly I’d love to see this man shown the door.
He constantly mischaracterizes things and frankly outright lies.
I guess though that is part of the whole being in Trumps administration and frankly a crony.

Huh. Expletive-filled dressing down. I believe Hoekstra can go fuck himself.
First this ambassador is a clown he was a clown when he was ambassador to the Netherlands during trump 1 too.

Third regardless that trump was having a hissy fit tantrum over this yelling at Paterson and especially doing something in public is way below the dignity of the austere office he holds. He should be politely asked to go spend more time with his family.
Say it with me. The ad doesn’t matter.
The US was shit at negotiation, and Trump had to pick a convenient excuse to push pressure on Canada.
That’s it. Strongarm negotiations. The US had their manager step in.
God I hope the people who have to deal with these f*ckheads (e.g. Hoekstra) are well paid as well as competent. I could not stomach it.
You can’t expel him, doing so would only add fuel to the dumpster fire that is Canada/US relations at present. We should just ignore him, handle necessary diplomatic interactions with the United States directly through the State Department. Act as if we don’t have a US ambassador. It would be nice if the press did the same, let him hold press conferences in an empty room.
