If Trump runs in any capacity and the GOP even remotely entertains it, the conversation should be of state secession, not of maintaining a system the right completely broke.

I have no interest in a third term for anyone, but it’s a subliminal threat to the GOP if they try to allow third terms because Obama is more popular than Trump (assuming they’re not going rig it anyway).

Obama wouldn’t be eligible because he ran two consecutive terms. SCOTUS might back Trump’s claim that the amendment only places a bar on a third term following two consecutive terms.

If Trump tries to run for a 3rd term in any capacity, whether as POTUS or VP, there needs to be immediate secession or revolution discussions. That’s an understood agreement every single president in the United States has honored up until Trump. That would make him king and this his kingdom.
Trump will absolutely weasel his way into a third term. Therefore Obama running again is fair game.

There is no single thing left in life Trump would want more than to stage a personal victory over Barack Obama. Faced with the prospect of being declared either winner or loser in that contest, there is no limit to what he would do to be declared winner.
I think as an ironic statement of the patent unconstitutionality of Trump running again, “Obama 2028” is problematic because it’s too easy to take seriously.
This would officially be the thing to break conservatives’ minds. All the sudden a president running for a third term would be a huge no no.

Trump’s health issues will not allow him to finish this term….not to mention another! Stroke, heart disease, body control issues, and onset dementia. All that at 80 is an uphill fight for life! I know because my mother just passed from such conditions. It will not be pleasant!

Obama won’t be allowed to run a 3rd term since by their logic Obama served two terms back to back. Only trump can run a 3rd term as his terms were broken up. It’ll be trump on the ballot with a token dem the GOP handpicks. All other candidates will be indicted and removed from ballots. Yes this is illegal. No that doesn’t matter.
