    1. i’m sorry but there is no replacing trade with the US where where everything from health regulations to geography works out for both parties.

asian countries are quite aware that canada is desperate. and many of the markets in asia are WAAAAAY smaller and barely a blip compared to US buyers. this isn’t going to end very well.

i also find it hilarious the article mentions blackberry as some beacon of canadian hope, a long dead company IN canada that only survives cause it still makes shoddy cheap software for asian cars lol.

Trump has alienated our longtime friend and ally Canada. Canadian citizens now hate the United States. There has been a steep decline in Canadian tourism. This is all because Trump rudely decided to bully Canada. Because he has always lived in a bubble he never learned the basic golden rule that the rest of us live by.

The orange man’s America first is actually America falling behind and getting boxed out.

Americans are letting Trump do this by not standing up to him enough.

Americans are programmed to hate democratic socialistic programs like healthcare which canada is about.

Americans infect canada with thier violence, war profiterering, gun love, drug abuse and distribution.

Americans seem to not give a damn about the downtrodden they cause in their country.

We dont need American trade if it slowly infects our country with said values.

America is not our ally and we can make new roads with other world citizens.

We really dont „need“ America, they cant even police themselves from corruption and are dangerous.

    5. People from the usa needs to stop blaming trump for all of this, they are allowing him to do as he feels like.

This is the act of a desperate man: „As Prime Minister Mark Carney of Canada left for a weeklong swing through Asia, he faced a worsening economic picture at home. Plants were closing and jobs were being lost. Inflation was edging up, and there were signs that the country was sliding toward a recession.“

„As Trump tariffs america, the rest of the world moves forward without America“

As republicans continue to isolate the united states the world will move on and trade with new partners. The age of american dominance is over. Now begines the slow death unless something drasticaly changes.

Carney should ignore Trump. Every meeting has been nothing burger and a waste of time. Spend that time going independent and reaching out to new partners.

    10. The smart move, why would anyone want to deal with our Idiot in Chief. Trump never had the hand his advisors told him he did.

    11. As a Canadian, I don’t hate all Americans, but I despise what they have become collectively and lost all respect forever. The US can’t collapse soon enough as far as I’m concerned.

    12. Im sure thats part of his master plan to make America great – chase away all your trade partners!

Good luck with your „leader“ who somehow managed to bankrupt a casino.

    13. I’m really sick of these posts.

Every time I see a headline,  I think there’s something concrete – a treaty, a deal,  a contract – anything.  But it’s just „Canada’s planning this“ or „Canada’s trying that“ or „Carney is planning to try to meet with..“ Yeah,  no shit.  We all know we’re trying to diversify  our trade interests.  It’s essential to our survival that we do so.

And yeah,  I get that the wheels of diplomacy and commerce grind slowly. I’d  rather we take the time to do things right than rush into poorly considered decisions that will come back to bite us in the ass.

But wading though daily posts saying „Breaking news! Everything is still the same!“ gets really dispiriting. And you can’t just ignore them because you’re thinking  „maybe *this* time?“ It grinds you down,  man.

Trumps second term is confirmation of a state of mind in America thats dangerous and emotional unstable.

His criminal activity, his constant lying is now infecting a generation of young Americans, if the president can act this way its ok for us!
