      >US forces have killed 14 people in strikes on four alleged drug boats in the Pacific, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth says.

      >He said one survivor was rescued by Mexican search and rescue personnel. It is the latest in a series of attacks on boats the US says have been carrying drugs in both the Pacific and Caribbean.

      >The latest strikes in the eastern Pacific, which Hegseth said happened on Monday at the direction of President Donald Trump, mark an escalation in what it says is a campaign to target drug traffickers.

      >At least 51 people have now been killed in the strikes, which has led to escalation tensions between the US and the governments of both Colombia and Venezuela. In a statement on X, Hegseth said the four vessels hit on Monday „were known by our intelligence apparatus, transitioning along known narco-trafficking routes and carrying narcotics“.

      >Hegseth added that eight „narco-terrorists“ were killed in the first strike. Four and three were killed in the following two strikes.

      >One person survived the strikes. According to Hegseth, Mexican search-and-rescue authorities „accepted the case and assumed responsibility for co-ordinating the rescue.“ The condition of the survivor or his current whereabouts are unclear. „The department has spent over two decades defending other homelands,“ Hegseth wrote. „Now, we’re defending our own.“

Can someone please explain to me how this is any different from say a cop or ICE shooting someone in the streets and saying they were carrying drugs. Without proving anything, like identifying people or drugs. Because unless a satellite was constantly watching with no breaks in coverage to see drugs be loaded and sent on its way until the moment of strike there is no way you could say for sure that there are drugs on the boat. Even then the satellite images would be able to test the drugs. What kind of drugs? Or is it something else. I’m not saying we let drug runners go, I’m saying there should be due process before killing someone. But seems like the states doesn’t care about life unless they are talking abortions. Even that they stop caring as soon as a baby is born.

Edit. For those who talk about drone strikes in Afghanistan or Iraq or places like this, for the most part drone strikes by military are against armed insurgents, or actual military, as well they are in a known zone of conflict and under the backing of congressional acts of war, or there is justification for self defence as nil action would likely result in death of American soldiers or allies. Neither of these is the case here.

This is absolutely crazy. Americans have a long list of fuck ups, so instead of getting extra cautious these nutcases double down and kill people for „alledged“ crimes. If anybody wants to know, what Americans these days are, look up a speech their competent „secretary of war“ gave to their leading generals a couple of weeks ago. This is beyond nuts. Idiocracy at its best…

our government are terrorists and they probably will never face justice.

I feel like this is how radicals are created. Innocent people will be killed and someone will want revenge.

    6. These assholes are using these targeted murders as a way to desensitize the public. They want the masses to accept that the government can kill people because they say they were bad without providing any proof or details whatsoever.

    7. So if you’re caught at the US border with drugs they could just shoot you on the side of the road but then they’d have to supply proof rather than sink it to the bottom of the ocean – scary stuff.

    8. Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law means the USA just murdered 14 more innocent people for no reason other than republicans have tiny dicks.

    9. I knew more about the Iraqis we bombed under GWB than I know about these „terrorists“

We were all gung up to prove they deserved it but these are just whispers wtf is going on?

    10. It’s wild seeing the Pentagon basically force out all the press because they wanted to control the narrative on these murders.

No matter how many so called “drug boats” they blow up, as long as there is still demand for these drugs in the US, they will always find a way to get the supply into the country.

    12. thecolombianmome on

Show us the proof that those were drug boats. Oh right, it doesn’t exist because they were exploded

    13. This is murder. No matter what else is true, this is outright murder. If the US can get away with these boat murders, it has the inch it needs to take the mile.

We are headed into a war. Cat couldn’t scratch their dicks.

I’m waiting to see any evidence that these are actually narcos, but even if they are these are extrajudicial killings. Legal or not (probably not) this is the wrong way of handling things.

Anyone who thought the military wouldn’t obey illegal orders is proven wrong here. F the A holes.

51 people and zero evidence these people were bringing drugs into our country… b b but Hillary

So the US is an international aggressor to boaters now. Normal policy would be to capture and prosecute. But now we just rubber stamp crimes against humanity.

    18. Murdered. The U.S. MURDERED 14.

That’s what it’s called when there’s no due process and you just blow them out of the water.

    19. SMOKED_REEFERS on

Does anyone actually know wtf is going on with all of this “we killed some more boat ppl!” news stories??

    20. Never forget that this is all done in your name Americans. This is being done, according to the government, for you.

    21. BluntCity101 on

I wish the international community gave a shit about trying war criminals. This is against the geneva convention

    22. Even IF those boats were carrying drugs, since when is that an offense punishable by instant death with no arrest or trial? Still wildly illegal even if you grant their premise

    23. reasonablemanyyc on

I’m gonna guess with their surveillance equipment they watch these guys load the boats, provision the boats and then get underway with the boats. I highly doubt that professional soldiers are just killing fishermen when they can read a newspaper from 2 miles up. These people have been infiltrating drugs onto the shores of the USA and doing so knowing the damage they are doing. It is a weapon of mass destabilization and a threat to the health and wellbeing for both the US and Canada. Obviously arresting them and recycling them isn’t working and hasn’t worked for the last 50 years. Putting warheads on foreheads might.
