Is Mary gonna elect herself as Taoiseach in waiting again
I think we’ve seen this before, it doesn’t last long for SF it seems.
There was an election a few months back and FF&FG won it (needing a few independents of course).
We are four years out. There’s nothing to see here.
I swear this always happens then come election time, Sinn Fein make some blunders, but still manage to do well and FF/FG shut them out of any conversations and we are back to repeat again in another 5 years.
In order for SF to get in, they’d need parties to go into a coalition with. Who would that be?
Not FG.
Surely not FF.
SD didn’t seem too eager last time round
Nor Labour.
PBP/AAA/Solidarity (just pick a name) are a possibility.
So more of the same then…?
Social Democrats need to buckle down and get more people running at local level.
When was this poll released? I can’t see anything about it on Business Post, none of the usual political pundits have mentioned it, and the Instagram account that posted it has 59 followers.
Realistically, there’ll never be a change unless SD can get up to around 20% and translate it into seats.
Of all the left wing parties, they’re the most likely to eat into the FF/FG middle class vote.
Maybe if some wealthy benefactor can throw a few million their way they’ll be able to field a lot more decent candidates.
They also seem to be serious about fielding candidates who haven’t come the traditional route (I.e. they’re not full of teachers, lawyers and ex-councillors)
There’s no way this is accurate after the budget came out, both FG and FF having pretty disastrous presidential campaigns, energy prices and the housing crisis coming into the winter, citywest etc.
