    1. This is great news. We can stop wasting our time with the US and focus on the issues we have closer to home. I don’t know why we are bothering trying to negotiate with a lunatic anyways

No reason to meet with him anyways, he’s already on record as not willing to negotiate and is all about domination rather than fair trade. Sounds like he’s gonna be thrown to the wolves soon anyway, time will take care of him

Yesterday a CBC panelist advised Carney to stalk the hallways of the Asean summit looking for any opportunity to talk to Trump – in other words, use the same strategy I did in high school to maximize face time with a girl I liked. Pathetic that it has come to this.

I figure there’s really only 2 reasons he’s doing this.

He’s potentially surrounded by yes men, has a catastrophically fragile ego, is senile, a total narcissist, and every bit as much of a child as we all know he is.

But, it’s probably in combination with trying classic toxic relationship games – act all upset and huffy, give the silence treatment, and wait for Carney to come and say „I’m tired of fighting let’s just forget about it and move on. I’ll do whatever you want“.

Is it that stupid and that simple of a tactic? Or is he really just *100%* throwing a tantrum over a dumb ad. Carney should act offended by something Newsom posts on twitter, it’s the same thing.

Just talk to every other world leader. Get the budget passed.

Frankly, the deal on the table sounds like it sucked. It’s basically what we have now and it allows the US to keep carving out key industries just like what they’ve been doing.

The US doesn’t want a deal. Calling Trump at all hours or conceding anything more just for facetime is just … sad and pathetic.

Maybe stop glazing Trump at every opportunity?

It was all an excuse anyways; he was never gonna make a deal, Ford just made it easy for him to TACO again. *chicken noises*

It’s been what, 6 months of negotiations and we’ve gotten absolutely no where with it? I think if any “good deal” was going to happen, we would’ve seen at least some elements of it implemented. Instead, we’ve only seen tariffs continue to raise on Canada overtime while we’ve given up concessions over and over.

The USA’s idea of a good deal is likely one that would cripple our economy but keep the advantages of USMCA for them. It’s just not reasonable to keep negotiating right now.

Adjusting to working without the States will improve Canada and even more so once this reign of autocracy government is no longer an obstacle.

    9. Whatever. Any agreement is going to be worthless with this man anyways.

He’s a narcissist, and feels anxious when the cameras and headlines aren’t about him, even if it is for a few hours. Eventually his big Asia trip will be over, he’ll be frustrated with protest at home, and will turn to Canada for big good news, and the actual details won’t eve  matter then as long as Carney stops by and smiles for cameras. Of course…. any agreement with this man means nothing anyways. We have to just accept reality, however difficult.
