Warning that Ukraine might have to fight “another two or three years” and hoping it doesn’t drag into a decade, what a grim paradox.
Wish the western leaders do more to end this war.

Good! They should fight and stay focused on not giving Russia anything.

This is a message for Putin and Trump more than it is for the Ukrainian people or its allies

Putin knows that Russia is barely holding itself together and is on the brink of collapse. Hearing that Ukraine can go another 3yrs is a big slap in the face for Putin’s morale

Trump has some bizarre misunderstanding that Russia has (or at least used to have) some kind of strength. Trump is simple and will just follow what he perceives to be the strongest force

This message is to demoralise Putin and inform Trump

He said of Russia’s president: “Don’t believe that Putin is some kind of extraordinary personality or a magician, or magnetic, or charismatic.

“He’s an extremely ordinary and simple person. The conversations with him are not interesting. [He has] a very simple way of thinking, and it’s always about who has more power and who is ready to use the power against each other.”
