I’m no conspiracy theorist but this whole thing is just bafflingly incompetent, I’m trying to justify anything but the fear that our prisons are run by complete idiots.
Worst season of Prison Break ever. They should never have made the remake.
Are they going to fire an incompetent person(s) who made this happen? Or just brush under the carpet?
The guy was just as confused when he was let out – even hanging around outside of the prison for over an hour before being shooed away by staff. God help us.

At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if he was ‚found‘ outside the police station with a large A3 printed poster saying
„I am the convicted sex offender you wanted. Here’s a photo of me. Please arrest me“
Only to be repeatedly turned away and told to wait until Monday because the task force is on leave until then.

He’s been wandering around London in his prison clothes lost and confused. He even tried to tell the prison officers that he shouldn’t be being released. What the fuck has gone on here, do you think the police would have even bothered looking for him if it wasn’t for the media attention? Makes you wonder how many times this has happened but the guy releases hadn’t been in the headlines all summer and no one noticed.
The Lib Dem MP for the area where the prison is has demanded a national inquiry.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we end up getting calls for Starmer to resign over this either. Which he’ll ignore, obviously, but it doesn’t help.
I love how much of our tax money which they keep stealing more and more of has gone towards this one illegal boat arriving immigrant.
As someone who has two family members who work in the prison services I can’t say this whole thing has shocked me too much. There is money in the sector but part of the problem is high staff turnover (like crazy high) and the ones who get left behind are either jaded old timers or people who are just plain incompetent, there is a tiny percentage of those who care about the job and fewer of them who are good at it.
He was only 1 month into a 12 month sentence. He was supposed to be deported only after the sentence was served. Why was he being deported now? When the public contacted police to say they’d spotted him, female officers were sent to arrest this guy. What chance would they have had if he’d resisted?
