I’m not gonna put any definitive dates on anything, but I would assume Operation Paperclip is an important event in the decline…

It’s always been that way. Government is evil by it’s very nature. They rob or extort people (they call it taxes) and they boss people around (they call it law). It’s very simple. I don’t have a right to rob my neighbor. So how can I then delegate to another group of people (the government) the right to rob my neighbor.
Also they do a bunch of pseudo religious rituals like elections and build temples and write stuff down on paper and call it constitutions and laws to try to create the illusion of legitimacy. When government cannot be legitimate. Unless it only rules over people who consented to be ruled over. But then it wouldn’t be a government anymore.
The truth is that pretty much every government on the planet is controlled by the same group of people. A handful of elite families. And it’s been that way for most of recorded history.
The revolutionary war wasn’t much of a revolution. They rebelled against tyranny that was minor by today’s standards and created one of the most evil and oppressive governments on the planet.
Also a lot of the founding fathers were high level Freemasons. Benjamin Franklin was openly a member of the hell fire club. Also a lot of them owned hundreds of slaves. You don’t believe in freedom and own hundreds of slaves.
The truth is there was no independence. On the surface they gave the colonies independence. But they kept running things from behind the scenes. People started to reject being openly ruled by a king. So they gave them the illusion of choice by letting them vote for a different puppet every four years. And so it has continued to this day.
People don’t rebel if they think they are free. So give them the illusion of freedom and most of them won’t complain. The truth is this world itself is a prison. I won’t go deep in the rabbit hole but if you are here you aren’t free. Even if government didn’t exist you would still be a slave. For more information read my posts.
Weren’t the people who created the constitution freemasons or at least the majority? Wasn’t Christopher Columbus Jewish? And doesnt the core basis of freemasonry deal with jewish magic and rituals? I think we’ve probably been fucked since inception.

A better question is what decade did the idea of a less corrupt government emerge. I believe under Teddy Roosevelt and the busting of the robber barons. But going back as long as the republican there are always people who have used their position for personal gain. Some like during Grants presidency were just overtly unapologetically corrupt. It also depends on what you mean by corruption by personal gain (DJT), usurpation of power (Lincoln), moral turpitude (JFK) expansion of government power (FDR) ideological conflict (Wilson), mistreatment of people (Jackson) or expansionary (McKinley)

The U.S Government has grown massively through the years, in the beginning it was fairly small , and thus the opportunity for corruption was limited.

It depends on what you’re defining as corrupt.
The moment the US government was hijacked by a foreign entity was the JFK assassination and the ensuing semi covert Israeli invasion and occupation which has led things to where they are currently.
Obviously there were corrupt politicians and deceitful leaders before that, but that was the turning point.
2008-2016 & 2020-2024. Massive money laundering.
