It is another Bloomberg piece on China. Given Bloomberg’s track record, best to skip and look for answers elsewhere.

Why is it forcing? Look like a fair deal. If they want these minerals they need to follow the rules

Or that the US is just as bad or worse despite having its soldiers based on German soil for protection?
These same naive people are the reason why China went from being dirt poor to become a superpower, that is competing in the AI race while EU isn’t even in it.

I mean, ‚forcing‘ is a pretty strong word. It’s a condition – if you want to export rare earths, you have to hand these over. You are not forced to against your will, it’s part of a deal. If you deem the deal unfair you can walk away from it.
They decided to do capitalism and they are doing it well !!
Now if us Canadian’s can get our act together, we can supply the world with all the rare metals and natural resources Europe and the world wants and needs….to bad our politicians give too much power to minority groups here in Canada.
