Maybe Gilmour Space Technologies can get funding from the Australian government to set up a northern launch base in Canada in cooperation,, probably closer to the equator though

By letting go of the F-35 and going for something like the Grippen, we could strengthen our capabilities in assembling and maintaining supersonic equipment.

Canada has a strong aerospace and space sector and is one of the world’s top 10 space faring nations. This is a great opportunity to take advantage of what is expected to be a trillion dollar industry over the next 20 years, starting with the fact that launch sites are becoming increasingly valuable as more private players come into play globally.
This could generate billions in returns over the years which would strengthen our economic and strategic independence especially as many of our national space industries are heavily dependent on US launchers and sites at this time.
These are the types of strategic and economic investments which helps a country. Just look at RocketLab’s impact on New Zealand’s economy and tech sector.
