Good. If the fascists are going to cheat to win then the rest of us need to utilize every tool possible to resist.

    2. How does this path not end in violence? You’re removing people’s voices. I condemn Texas for starting this escalation and being so cynically partisan about it, but each further escalation is leading down a dark path. This country was founded on a war about people not being allowed a voice. If nothing else, I think all Americans can agree that is the line in the sand for what is America and what is something else.

I have to say, I know that many people have been denied their voice in voting and life in general, both now and in the past, and I swear I don’t mean to diminish that in the previous paragraph. It’s just that this affects everybody in a clear and obvious way. Even the rich and powerful are getting caught in this, not just the intended targets like democrats in Texas and conservatives in California.

Now it is spreading across the country and my extrapolations of the future terrify me. What happens when one side loses and one side wins and many millions of regular people know without doubt that the political class has silenced them? What about the states that have enshrined nonpartisan redistricting already? What happens if they start backtracking? What happens if they don’t? How do we back off this cliff?

    3. Zero issues by me, the GOP is fighting total war, anything less on our side is malfeasance against democracy.

It really is a dumb nuclear option republicans are trying. Every major city has more liberal voters in it. The largest cities in the country are in states led by democrats. You really want to plan this game?

Manhattan now has 17 districts and the rest of the state is 1.

      Repeat

Dems should do this across the country and go after EVERY position in every red state.

I wish my state would do the same but our governor is a feckless coward (even though he is a Democrat in a solid blue state who is also term limited and has nothing to lose) 😡

Who woulda thought the former capital of the confederacy would be standing up against this nonsense? Proud of Virginia.

I hope that if Dems can take back all 3 branches the first things they do is expand the Supreme Court, abolish the electoral college and ban gerrymandering.

Necessary but goddamn, if the fucking Republicans just agreed to live in a democracy none of this would be necessary. There is no real endgame to this, just more moves until we are killing each other in the streets.

That is preferable to living a rightwing dictatorship to be sure, but what the fuck is wrong with Republicans? They think they are going to win this through their hillbilly arsenals? Like we are in some mythical recreation of the Revolutionary War? We got nukes you dummies. We start a civil war, everyone dies. EVERYONE.

Can California soft secede? Withhold all federal money and reinvest it into the state

    11. Finally, Dems are waking up to the fact that they have to use every tool available to preserve, protect, and defend this country with the same urgency our enemies, domestic, are trying to dismantle, control, and destroy.

The point of rules is consistency and stability. It is necessary and just to break them for the same ends. Unfortunately, this is exactly how his supporters are already justifying everything pedo king does.
