    1. No, your local national monument, national historical park, national park for the performing arts etc is not missing from this map. Those things are not national parks, despite being managed by the national park service.

      If the final two words in the name are not „national park“ then it is not a national park.

      Damn, so there is not a single national park in the entirety of New York State? That’s pretty sad.

    3. Don’t forget that national forests and grasslands exist. I live in a red area of this map, yet I am surrounded by endless public forest land. National forest >>> national parks

      This map is inaccurate. For example. Sleeping bear dunes national lake shore is in northern Michigan.

    6. Man, Texas is big. Most of Texas is in the red even though they have a national park in their state.

      Just incase anyone is going to come from northern Michigan, the whole UP is basically one giant National park.

    8. Some of these dots are not like the others some of these dots just don’t belong … between the Rockies and the Appalachians for the most part state parks are better than national parks.

      Don’t worry about NY, they have their own, and their own is impressive enough to draw people from National Park distances
