    1. Religious fanatics tend to destroy things that they can’t compete with from an intellectual argument standpoint. We’ll never know, but there were probably things that went against their beliefs.

    2. Just the stupidity of Herostrates, who wanted to keep his name unforgotten forever.

What’s written in the books Voyagers 1 and 2, Angelic Realities and the answer to what 12 steps from AA has to do with psychedelics mostly.

Probably done by Christians. Like most of the history that „pagans“ wrote before the curse of Christianity took over the area. Burned and destroyed.

Most likely building knowledge and possible medical knowledge. Something that if everyone knew would destroy their systems.

Caesar burned the fleet on a windy day. There were other fires after the fact set by Christians and people like to conflate these events and say that Christians intentionally burned all of the ancient world’s knowledge blablabla but as usual with history there’s less intrigue and more happenstance at play.

I’m guessing it was evidence of ancient civilazations that had fallen. Challenging Rome’a narrative that they were the greatest that ever existed. Who knows?

    9. the secret is that it was not destroyed in a single catastrophical fire. go read at least the wiki page for it, it would be unreal of me in regard to my free time to write paragraphs of the most basic information about it.

      Which fire?
The library fell into disrepair over decades and was pretty much a shell by the time of the last fire.
The idea that this repository of world knowledge was lost overnight is false, whatever the library contained had been disseminated throughout other libraries long before the final fire.
