Generation of “stupid” is produced when overreliance on LLMs like ChatGPT reduces cognitive engagement and learning skills. This study shows that students using LLMs to write essays exhibited weaker neural connectivity, lower memory recall, and reduced ownership of their work compared to those who relied solely on their own brains. While LLMs provide immediate convenience, they appear to diminish critical thinking, deep processing, and knowledge retention, suggesting that habitual use could lead to a generation less capable of independent reasoning and learning. https://arxiv.org/pdf/2506.08872

the people choosing to rely on ChatGPT were stupid before they started.

Clearly you’re not working with management, or executives to realize we’re already there.

I dunno, I’ve read several articles about people who have found true love with and even married their chatgpt thingamajig and I think that’s wonderful. „We’re perfect together, we never argue“ is the most common explanation.

This is definitely true, when it first launched I started using it a lot for work and studies and after a while I could feel myself finding it difficult to write or think of anything for myself without using it. I’ve stopped using it now and feel a lot better for it.

We’ve been there for decades, product of liberal education system of indoctrination. Students can’t read or do basic math but somehow are brilliant enough to know they’re a boy in a girls body suddenly.

Praying for an Idiocracy sequel where our hero has to face Upgrade in a presidential race and maybe play a funny game of checkers/chess in the end to determine the fate of the world.
We can say that AI woke and is propping up Upgrade

I think ai should be used in way that works as a guide that leads yiu towards the right path but relying on it to the point you switch off your brain is gonna be damn fucked
But playing devils advocate if we had an actual ai assistant on a 24/7 with precise accuracy. The smart get unstoppable.

Instead of collecting information from multiple sources, you’ll be getting your information from ChatGPT which is just a centralized place for information.
This sucks because whoever wants to push a narrative can simply affect one thing instead of having to control many things. It’s what I would do if I wanted to consolidate more control over the information the public can access.
The powers that be steered the public into thinking about how „AI is gonna make us dumber!“ Or „AI caused that man to kill himself!“. This is only exacerbated from companies that thrive off the fear mongering engagement. People should not have those arguments because they are playing right into their hands. The most important discussion about AI is WHO IS CONTROLLING IT
