  1. >4th President Mustafa Akıncı emphasized that he repeated the call made by Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, the partner in the government in Türkiye, immediately after the election results, and that he wanted the TRNC to become the 82nd province after Düzce, the 81st; “I have repeatedly emphasized that while the two-state rhetoric is being maintained, this is actually a policy of ‘provincialization,’” he said.

    >Akıncı stated that the call in question once again revealed the true intention and continued his statement as follows:

    >**I sincerely congratulate the statesman for not hiding behind his finger**. Why does he expect this decision from the parliament of a state that Türkiye claims to recognize but the world does not? He should submit a motion to the Turkish Grand National Assembly, and **not just for the north of Cyprus, but for the south as well. Isn’t this the essence of his frequently used slogan, ‚Cyprus is Turkish and will remain Turkish‘?**

I would vote for Akinci with both my hands

  2. So basically Akinci expects from Turkey to steal from the Greek Cypriots and then gift to TCs all the spoils of their illegitimate war! Does he think the Turks are his idiot servants?

Without Turkey the TCs are an 18% minority of Cypriots with the same rights as every other similar minority in other democratic countries. No „TC State“ of any kind on stolen land, no vetoes, no special privileges.

With Turkey they are the 0.25% of Turks, living in an illegally occupied territory run from Ankara, where their powers are limited to those of the local Mukhtaris. How the Turks label this illegally occupied territory („country“, „district“ whatever) has little importance.

Tatar made a choice of what he wants to be. Akinci should choose also.
