      This isn’t really news.

Our RAF intercepts Tu-95 nuclear bombers approaching UK airspace all the time, and has done since the Cold War.

Military experts consider this a _good_ thing because it proves to both sides that we’re ready and watching.

It’s when they stop you need to get worried.

    2. > Residents of the northern Norwegian town of Alta reported hearing two loud explosions around 11:18 a.m., followed by noticeable vibrations in nearby buildings and windows.

      > The Norwegian Air Force later confirmed that the sounds were sonic booms caused by the F-35s as they exceeded the speed of sound during the interception mission.

That sounds a bit more in hurry than usual (usual, because Norway has plenty of experience with Russian planes flying around them), if it’s worth mentioning.

    3. “The Russian aircraft was detected in international airspace north of Finnmark. It was a routine operation without any dramatic elements,” the Norwegian Air Force Command said in an official statement.

There are no mentioning of these events in Norwegian „big“ media. So it can not have been dramatic.
