      All the actual physics of extreme energies and exotic properties of matter aside, I believe a warp drive would inherently violate causality Even considering the whole not really moving faster than life, just bending space time thing. Kind of hard to get excited about something being even theoretically possible if that is the result.

      The only thing that gets me excited about the prospect of faster than light space travel is believing that we really are not as smart as we think we are. We may think it’s not possible but perhaps we are the roaches of the universe and a superior being (not „God“ as humans think of it – lol religion as we know it on earth is a bunch of bs of course) is indeed vastly smarter than us and figured this out and we just can’t comprehend it now but maybe in the future we can.

      This is popsci nonsense. Warp drives, like those proposed by Alcubierre, are absolutely in the realm of fantasy. The amount of energy required is staggering, and negative mass doesn’t appear to exist in nature.

      Just because physicists publish papers discussing how the math of General Relativity doesn’t prohibit such a thing doesn’t mean it’s in any way realistic.
