Bangladesh is very surprising given their large Hindu minority. Much larger than Pakistan’s.
More Fact: Nepal gives a public holiday on “ Tihar“ which is the second biggest festival in Nepal. It is usually a 5 day festival. Those days are celebrated differently on different regions but usually as
1st day as “ kag Tihar „( for the crow)
2nd day as “ kukur Tihar“ ( for dogs)
3rd day as „Gai Tihar & Laxmi puja“ ( Cow & goddess of wealth )
4th day as “ Goverdhan puja/ Goru Tihar / Mha Puja “ ( Mha puja is celebrated by Newari community )
5th day as “ Bhai Tika“ ( Day of brothers & sisters )
So, it’s very different from “ Diwali“ although on the 3rd day it is celebrated as a festival of light too.
Tbh, it ain’t just about higher costs mate, it’s more about healthcare bein‘ a profit industry in the first place.
Didn’t expect Pakistan to be there.
