The U.K. is prepared to deploy British troops to Ukraine to secure a future peace deal in the country, British Defense Secretary John Healey has said, ahead of a planned meeting between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

„Peace is possible,“ Healey said during a speech in central London on Monday. „If President Trump can broker a peace, then we will be ready to help secure that peace for the long term.“

Trump said last week, after a two-hour phone conversation with Putin, he would meet the Russian president in Budapest „to see if we can bring this ‘inglorious’ war to an end.“ Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is not invited, but has said he is willing to attend while criticizing host country Hungary—whose leader Viktor Orbán is close to Putin and to Trump—for its opposition to support for Kyiv.

    2. „We will bravely commit troops to this war once it is over.“

Could, probably, maybe, sometimes, in the future…we heard that many many times…so far just words, no action

There’s north Koreans, Iranians, Columbians, Chinese and god know what else fighting for ruzzia, why would it even be news if NATO sends troops there too?

Fuck Russia up, cancer of the world

Is BoJo going to be out in front leading the army there? Allegedly, BoJo played a major role in stopping Ukraine from agreeing to a peace plan with Russia in 2022, allegedly.

Reminder that North Korea is sending troops to fight Ukraine. Might as well send the French in to fight Russia.

NATO country could deploy troops to Ukraine, they could also give Ukraine F-35s, they could provide Ukrainian navy with a nuclear aircraft carrier battlegroup, they could provide Ukraine with nuclear missiles, they could all spend half their GDP to build Ukraine a deathstar. They won’t, but you know…..they could.

Almost 4 years of these bs, meaningless, sensationalist articles. This war lasted more than the Korean war at this point with casualties in almost the same numbers.

    9. I know this won’t be popular but Crush the Russian Government!!! Make the lives of the average Russian so hard that they overthrow Putin. That’s the only way he will loose his iron grip on power. Bomb the oil and gas infrastructure so the people start to freeze in the coming winter. Or NATO could actually put boots on the ground and end this war with less suffering of the average citizen; Russian and Ukrainian alike.

    10. Let me know when the news are that NATO grew a pair of balls and IS deploying troops to Ukraine

    11. The big problem with NATO joining that war is there are 3 nuclear powers in NATO. We can all sit here and confidently say that NATO would steam role Russia but when Putin realises his demise is close everyone starts firing Nukes at each other, that’s the end of your world right there.

Said it before, I’m really starting to suspect Newsweek is Russian funded given some of the wildly misleading headlines.

We’re considering deploying troops *after* some kind of peace agreement has been reached, as a peacekeeping force. This is nothing new, and indeed we (the UK) have led the way on this rhetoric for quite some time.

No one is deploying troops while the war is ongoing. I’m sure all the Russian propagandists in this (and other) threads desperately claiming we should (trying to make us look like the aggressor) will be very disappointed, but no sale I’m afraid.
