<edit> usa Farmer Caleb Ragland, president of the American Soybean Association, is complaining about the dire situation for U.S. soybean farmers due to the ongoing trade war with China, which has cut off all soybean orders since May. He highlights that retaliatory tariffs and a lack of price competitiveness are causing significant financial losses for farmers, as China, a historically dominant customer, is now sourcing its soybeans from other countries like Brazil and Argentina.

Tourism, soy beans, and beef. Three largest industries in South Dakota. Trump has obliterated all 3.
They will still vote for Trump’s 3rd term no problem though.

If soybeans are so sought after as cattle feed then we could have a good thing going. Cheaper for American ranchers and Argentine ranchers. Why be happy to sell it to China instead?

he does but there will be pain when righting the ship. I’m sure all those farmers are happy the border is secure, illegals are being deported, their daughters won’t have men in their bathrooms or sports, their kids won’t have the feds pushing DEI in schools they are forced to pay taxes for, and etc.
sucks the farmers have tough times but egg prices are down, gas prices are stable, and inflation is reasonable. we don’t like tariffs. we don’t like supporting Israel. but those are only a few issues.

Have you seen the price of beef? Covid decimated our beef herds and it will take another two or three years to regrow that herd. This will only bring down the price of beef until American ranchers can increase their herd size.
