They baited Newsom into a squabble about it assuming nothing like this would happen, and they did it because in reality it *was* super unlikely. They thought they were gonna get a bunch of sound bites about Newsom being petty etc. but they kinda forgot that 1 in a million still isn’t zero. I’m sure there have been some truly *monumental* tantrums over this behind closed doors.
Well in the Trump admin’s defense, we were so close to an incredibly happy outcome from that stunt. So very close.

Am I the only one who thinks that inconveniencing and intimidating SoCal was the whole point of the exercise? And that none of Trump’s people cared or worried about Vance? The whole thing was intentional and putting Vance in potential danger might have even been a bonus for them.
