    1. Elbows up. Elbows down. Repeat in a rapid sucession until you’re airbound and then try to fly over the border, you friggin’ hosers.

Does any other country refer to foreign visitors and residents as “aliens” to the degree that the US does? Like I know it’s technically/linguistically accurate but it just sounds so (deliberately) dehumanizing.

Canada please hop over to Mexico if you need to warm up, things in the USA just suck way too much.

I mean, what Canadian doesn’t want to waste time in customs getting fingerprinted? Especially since we were allies for so long. It’s rude. And for sure, Canadians have already stopped visiting in record numbers, this is just going to help continue that.

If anything from the looks of what I’m seeing, it should be Canada dolling out the fingerprints. Wonder how much of the current US White House would be banned from entry based on their own criminal records.

But rules for thee, not for we, clearly.

    5. They have been doing this for over a year or more and the EU is starting like other countries.

    6. As an African I found the headline very confusing…then I read and understood.

I have been traveling frequently to Japan for about 20 years now, and fingerprints (plus a photo) have always been required to enter for me… so I’m not sure why this is so surprising other than it’s something else to pile on to the admin for adding more restrictions right now.

    8. Ngl as a Canadian I kinda don’t feel bad for any other Canadians that are still willingly choosing to go to the US

    9. That will go down a treat. You could put a random dog in charge and there would be an immediate improvement.

As someone from a state that borders Canada, and who profits greatly from Canadian tourism:

Please boycott us hard, and make it hurt to defend your rights to privacy and to free trade. I stand with Canada; you’re my neighbors, allies, and friends, and my federal government isn’t treating you right.

    11. Don’t worry, we’re not coming anymore anyways. Shame, I used to love trips to the US.

    12. US continuing to give foreign nationals less reasons to visit our country and spend money.

      Thanks Cheeto!

Go to Mexico instead. The food is better, it’s cheaper and the people are just happier.

…….hopefully all my French-Canadian relatives skip visiting the US for at least the next 3 years 3 months…..

Be too old to continue to go in a few years. Plus Europe is kinda nice. So are the islands. It was fun though.

    18. Perhaps they should be required to stay. All that is left behind is sold at auction and donated to fund scientific research in medicine.

    19. As a UK citizen i recently mentioned to an American that we have to get out of the car, pay $6, then have our photo taken and give fingerprints every time we enter the country. She laughed, thinking I was joking. If Americans visiting our countries were given such treatment they’d be screaming about being treated like criminals

    20. F. That. Noise.

Home of the rulings Guardians Of Pedophiles? No thanks.

Good luck America. Don’t touch the wall we are putting up. You’re not allowed to see the cool shit we got over here anymore.

Why would they be exempt from supplying biometrics to a country that they are visiting for up to 6 months? Proximity? Tradition? To get a visa to the United States from anywhere you get fingerprinted. The Canadian passport currently is your visa (visa waiver program) biometrics link you to your passport.
Americans with felony convictions can’t enter Canada and vice versa for example…how do both countries enforce this? Biometrics it eliminates lies, deception and false identity/fake documents.

    22. YouTube videos on regular Floridians not being able to sell their houses. That pretty much sums up this disaster.

Any Canadian that allows this disrespect, really needs to question his loyalty while bending over for a bully. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
