Isn’t this the battery plant that demanded that they be able to bring over their own workers (notably electricians, forklift operators, framers, and other trades) in exchange for the investment?
I am quite pro immigration, and quite pro investments in the green energy sector. I am quite warm to the idea of a federal-provincial industrial strategy. But spending $5bil to LG (a very wealthy company) to hire South Korean workers to build a plant for 2500 jobs is starting to strain my confidence in this strategy.
Was there some lack of qualified forklift operates in Windsor?
