This leopard can’t change his spots. They might as well replace him with a person who, ironically, is more like Carney. Maybe not a red tory but at least someone who isn’t screaming all the time. Moderate conservatives are more likely to shift back when their leader isn’t spending time with white nationalists like Diagolon.
His election defeat should have given him that message. If it didn’t, nothing will.
If they had kept O Toole I think they would have won handily.

Err..it’s not about what HE wants but about what CANADIANS want. At the last elections, Canadians have clearly stated that they did NOT want Poilievre as an MP, let alone as the Prime Minister.
It’s only after some internal party reorganization (a.k.a. giving a lot of money to someone duly-elected to resign and take his spot in the safest riding of the whole country), that Poilievre was able to get elected as an MP.
Conservatives might want to keep Poilievre around and a fringe of Canadians might want to as well, but a large majority of Canadians do NOT want him as Prime Minister.
If Conservatives really want to get back in power, they have to clean up their act!

The hallmark of the „right“ at the moment is to wreck what is working right now. Criticise EVERYTHING and stir up chaos and division.
Creating something isnt in the eight’s vocabulary right now and hasn’t been since harper. And that is saying something consider what harper did to the science sector in Canada, as well as what he did to government programs (much of that was never reversed by the liberals) and government accountability (again, much was never recovered), and how he was the media…
The entire establishment has moved to the right. Poilievre’s major goal is trying to remain relevant without looking like a clone of Alberta’s premiere.
For a guy who wants to become Canada primer minister, Conservative leaders are so far away from reality this guy Is not even able to be elected by his long time constituents. So there is that.
The reform wing of the CPC doesn’t want another Erin O’Toole, and they keep citing him as the failed “moderate conservative” strategy. The PC wing of the CPC wants a leader who just isn’t a dick, and maybe also doesn’t pander to the crazies.
Poilievre has some successes in his time as CPC leader, but the hurdle he ultimately needs to break through to become Prime Minister, is to become likeable. Which he seems incapable of doing.
At this point, the ideal CPC candidate that can appeal to both wings seems to be a populist Pierre Poilievre who is also somehow charming and nice too. Ben Mulroney, maybe?
Anyways, the CPC needs to recognize that they have lost 4 back to back elections. Even the most winnable election they had since Harper, they lost. If the CPC wants to win elections in the future, it won’t be with Poilievre.
