    1. Ceding Ukrainian-held parts of Donetsk Oblast would place Russian forces on the borders of Donetsk Oblast, a position that is significantly less defensible than the current line.

Trump and most of his administration doesn’t seem to understand that ceding this land without serious and long-term security guarantees (that aren’t a piece of paper) will mean Russia is easily able (will) attack again, and again.

I understand America see’s China has more important, but China pretty much owns Russia in some aspects. Deep blow to Russia now, means a weakened China when they attack Taiwan.

after dombass there are only open plains of farmlans up to Kharkiv and dnipro. no anchor points for defence.

It doesn’t matter, as if it was at least 2 years of ceasefire, Ukraine could build new defense lines, like it did in the zaporizhia region.

    5. So the plan is to concede the rest of the non–Russian-controlled Donetsk oblast to Russia. Just like that. This means ceding territory that is relatively untouched – at least compared with areas Russia had to conquer, the people who could be subjected to atrocities and forced into a meat grinder, and, most importantly, the fortifications that had held against Russia’s onslaught for eleven years. It would therefore open a route to the Dnipro and Kharkiv oblasts, respectively, which lack any meaningful defenses that could realistically hold the Russians. And for what? By this, an incentive is created for Russia to continue the war and even spread it into central Ukraine, since to gain these lands Russia wouldn’t need to do anything – offer no conditions or concessions; instead of fighting for the next two years to take them and losing another tens of thousands of men, military equipment, and crippling its economy even more, it would get them for free. Why should then Russia in such a scenario stop the war? It would be a horse. This deal only escalates the conflict.

Ukraine would be suffering its most powerful defensive positions . It would be insanity .

    8. This is slop, he didn’t propose anything, you just drew Donetsk region border and four arrows. Zaporozhie and Kherson are still claimed in Russian constitution.

    9. Smart-Zucchini-5251 on

Give us your natural defensive barriers and we promise we wont attack again

    10. Yeah, they shouldn’t cede that territory. It’s probably the most fortified area of the front line.

    11. TheWarPhotographer on

It’s funny how it was just the Donbas he wanted but his proposal goes beyond the Donbas boarder

    12. Sure!! Give up Kramatorsk Slovyanks and Kostyantynivka. The last big defense line. The big old rat of Putin sure doesn’t want to attack Ukraine again. 🤢🤮

    13. There will be no peace between democratic Europe and imperial Russia, anyone who claims otherwise is lying to themselves. Another war is a question of when, not if.

    14. ZealousidealAct7724 on

This map is a few months out of date, the Russians are advancing around Krasno Liman and from the east they bypass Zaporozhye line forts where they are seriously threatening Gullipole, also various reports suggest that Pokarovsk little time left.

    15. headlines like this are useless, there are no „New“ lines to attack straight to Atlantic ocean, and even then lines a just new-ish.
