After 3 years… lol
So imports of Russian oil and gas are set to be stopped by the end of 2027.
It’s very much possible that the war is over by then and there’s „no more reason“ for the ban, unfortunately…

What alternatives to they have ? I saw Trump making posts about Hungary being landlocked.
What other ways can energy needs be met that can replace Russian sources ? 4yrs in and this is still an issue.
I wish the tomahawks would’ve made it into Ukrainian military hands.
How the EU plan to do it:

Somebody realised that otherwise they’d just blackmail their way into Brussels doing nothing. Hooray! After years and years, some someone rubbed two braincells together.
I humbly suggest labeling anything and everything as a trade measure for a while. Would be interesting to see a Brussels free of autocratic blackmail for a while.
Yes our bills will be higher than mt Everest but at least we will buy gas from countries that can still import it from Russia or from the USA

Good timing. Around the anniversary of the 1956 revolutions the patriots are gonna argue that it’s best not to be free and independent from Russian influence.
EU plan check boxes:
1. France and Germany are still buying LNG from Russia, through the shadow fleet, but that’s ok.
2. Hungary and Slovakia, landlocked countries will have to invest a lot in new infrastructure and will buy gas and oil much more expensive than other EU countries with ports, but that’s ok.
3. China and India will buy the freed up gas and oil from Russia anyway, but that’s ok.
4. Military equipment parts are made in many EU countries are being sold to Russia, but that’s ok.
5. Keeping dependancy on US oil, gas, military hardware, IT services, while they are posing tariffs on EU, that’s ok.
