      2028 needs to be a wide open primary where the most popular candidate wins, not the candidate that the party wants to appoint. That is part of how we ended up with Trump twice.

      Even my couch won’t vote for Vance. 

      I have no doubt if we’re able to hold an election and it’s Vance vs Newsom or Pritzker, the Dems will win. This is presuming someone orange is out of the picture.

      I’m really hoping he isn’t the nominee. I get why the DNC is pushing this but I don’t trust this dude to be any different than establishment democrats. Obviously better than Vance or trump, but wish it wasn’t so transparent that he’s being held up by the DNC as “their guy” not the guy people are wanting to vote for

      Would be a mistake to run newsome. Republicans nationwide believe California is an authoritarian dump that hates all the things they like. They will show up to vote against him

      Yeah, no thanks. I’ll vote for him if it comes down to it, but let’s not pretend Gavin Newsom is some progressive savior. He’s another center-left Democrat who plays it safe and protects the status quo.

      If he wins, nothing really changes — same corporate donors, same revolving door politics, no push for Supreme Court reform, no term limits for Congress, no real fight for economic or healthcare reform. It’s just business as usual with a nicer haircut and better PR. I’m tired of voting for “lesser evils” instead of actual progress.

      I desperately hope that neither of them become possible nominees. Newsom would be like Biden. We need someone who’s willing to take drastic measures to repair any of Trump’s damage.
