Die Wohnung, die ich miete, hat ein Loch in der Wand zwischen der Küche und dem Flur. Ich vermute, dass es zur Belüftung geöffnet wurde, aber es sieht schrecklich aus; Die Wand ist aus Beton und etwa 7,5 cm dick und das Loch ist etwa 75 x 14 cm groß.
Ich würde es gerne verschließen und eine 10 x 60 cm große Entlüftung einbauen, um die Belüftung nicht so sehr zu stören. Soll ich das zuerst mit der Wohnungsbaugesellschaft (Gesobau) besprechen? Irgendwelche Ideen, wie man es bei Bedarf selbst machen kann?

If your change is permanent, then yes you have to talk to your landlord first. If it’s not permanent, you don’t have to. How? If there’s nothing easily available from a Baumarkt or Amazon, I personally would whip something up in my 3D printer. If you’re more handy with wood or metal, then use that.

I would put the fan in, fill the rest with spray foam, cut off the foam und plaster/paint the rest.
The simplest way to close this is this: Buy two wooden boards 100x20cm and install them on either side. You can eaily paint them white, drill holes in them for the screws and saw out the vent opening. You may want to buy screws that can be covered with white plastic caps. If you want to be fancy, you can round the edges. I am sure that people won‘t notice the board.
Another solution involves a wooden cut-out installed with acrylic and painted over.
