If anything, also knowing 2th/3th immigrants counts as German, it’s even more bad you’d expect.
Of the total number of crimes in the Police’s stats, how large a percentage is covered by the news?
Some kind of filtering is done by the news but is it based on the type of crime, whom the crime was committed by, a combination thereof or someting else?

First of all you need to equalize the statistics first to be able to do a honest comparison. So the first question what crime categories are news and newspapers talk about and what crime categories are included with the crime statistics.
Then you also need to take the same year and you have equalized the data with the same sub-set to compare.
Why? Because it is possible that news is only about most hard criminality offences like murder and/or violance only and not for example petty theft, while the crime statistics includes also petty theft and other minor offences. To avoid misconception you need to equalize it first to make a solid and honest point based on facts.
In other words, 20% of the population is committing 35% of the crimes… This only proves one point.
Let’s not forget that most of the ex-immigrants have German citizenship right now.

Foreigners equals not German people, a German person can still have foreign ethnicity.
I’m french, but I’m from Algerian parents, if I was a criminal, I would be registered as a „french person“, someone from french origin, yet, while I technically am, it’s not what people commonly understand, I’m still the son of immigration.
The difference is, I could have grown up with parents teaching me a different culture and to obey different rules/laws, that’s what happened to friends of mine, and they almost all had issues with justice, I didn’t. Also, I consider myself as french, they don’t.
See the difference? Same qualification, different reality.

I don’t get how they make the jump from origins mentioned to them being overrepresented? Thats like saying if they didn’t say it was a german when reporting a crime, they didn’t report the crime?
Actually…you’ll probably find that 30% of Germans are immigrants or children of immigrants so it all works out statistically
But racists on Reddit told me „the media doesn’t mention the suspect’s ethnicity when they’re foreign“. And that „they all know who it is“ when no information is released. Only to disappear from comment sections every time when the previously unreleased ethnicity of the suspect turned out to be native to the country, because news in almost all of the Western world actually has a Right-wing bias, partly because such stories sell more.

I think it’s perfectly reasonable to hold foreigners to a higher standard. Migrating to another country is a privilege, not a right. The least they can do is show gratitude by respecting the law.
