    1. Who eats the most pizza in the world? Surprisingly, it’s not Italy — it’s Norway, where the average person devours over 11 kg of pizza every year! The United States, Canada, and Australia follow closely behind, all averaging around 9 kg per person annually.

Hard to believe someone other than USA consumes that much. It basically transcends all socio economic and racial groups.

Adding diffeent colors to this graph makes it harder to read. I constantly have to chrck the legend to know what each color means.

Since the unit of all colors is the same (kg/year) it would be better to use the same color, starting with a very bright hue and moving up in intensity.

And probably 75% of the pizzas they eat in Norway are the frozen cardboard variety.
Abysmal food culture over there 😅

World in Maps equals an automatic downvote.

Might as well do an AI map with how terrible their track record with data accuracy is

I would not call the crap frozen pizza (Pizza Grandiosa) a pizza. I taste like cardboard with artificial tomato sauce on it.
And there are lots of totally crappy frozen pizzas i Norway. But they’re dirt cheap, and often on sale. Like 5 for 100 nok.

Funny, I just saw another post claiming Norway eats the most tacos, just after Mexico. What’s going on with Norwegians?

Zero chance Argentina is in the bottom tier. Pizza is a staple down there.

That seems very low – a small-medium pizza is probably 800g, people eat one pizza every other month?

    10. I mean, a pizza is like 500g. So if you have pizza every other week, you would get about 12kg of pizza a year. I’m more surprised every other country is so low 😅

    11. Dr Oetker frozen margarita pizza weights 475 grams. This means 11 kg of pizza is roughly 23 pizzas a year, or one full pizza per person once every 15 days.

      God damn rookie numbers.

    12. So actually.. we shouldn’t turn to Italy for pizza expertise. But rather to Norway, North America and Australia. Who would’ve thought that?

No data for the Middle East and Africa is wild. I know off the top of my head that Moroccans and Ethiopians eat a lot of pizza too.
