And they loved it, that’s why they hung them up like decor. Its because they are nazis. And there was no optical illusion.  Unless you are an idiot, you can plainly see what it is.

    2. CockBrother on

I kept trying to see the optical illusion but all I could see was a swastika desecrated American flag.

    3. ThatEvanFowler on

      >“*They said that the swastika, a deeply anti-semitic symbol, was hidden right in the center of the flag.*“

      NOT HOW HIDING WORKS.

    4. hamburger2400 on

This is chilling . An American flag altered to show a swastika, hanging in a Congressional office during a Zoom call?

If we accept “optical illusion” or “ruse” as explanations without rigorous scrutiny, we normalize the creep of hateful symbols into mainstream spaces. Whether it was intentional or manipulated from outside, accountability is nonnegotiable.

**There must be a full, transparent investigation and no room for evasions.**

    5. What’s funny is that my first thought was „so who ordered them as a ‚joke‘?“ vs who planted these flags.

I’m not kidding, my first thought was that they got *caught ordering them*, NOT that someone did it *to* them.

    6. > The symbol used by the Nazi Party was allegedly concealed on the flags using an “optical illusion,” one of the sources said.

The picture has been distributed on social media. The swastika is distinct and does not blend into the background. It doesn’t appear as anything but a swastika.

This is just another lie the MAGATs are telling us.

    7. I find it puzzling that some Republicans are surprised by the outrage. They brought it upon themselves by endorsing the extreme right, whether you like it or not. Ngl, it’s time they took a back seat and started acting more like the people than just their party.

    8. Marvin_Frommars on

I had to stare at that flag for a long time before I saw that swastika. I mean, it was like half a second or something. It was really hard to see.

    9. Cobra-Lalalalalalala on

Yes, but have you considered they just see swastikas in their center of vision at all times, and that’s why they didn’t notice it?

    10. ButtholeCharles on

They’re literally just trying to cover up the fact that a Republican Fucking Congressman had a swastika on a flag hanging in his office by saying they were the victim of planted flags.

      This is disgusting.

    11. N0n3of_This_Matter5 on

The masks are off…unless you are ICE, in which case we should be pulling the masks off.

    12. And now let’s look at the [„optical illusion“](https://i.ibb.co/8gt2QhTp/dave-taylor-republican-congressman-from-ohio-office-has-altered-us-flag-with-swastika-heres-complete.webp), since for some reason pictures of it seem to be vanishing from news stories.

How the hell is that an optical illusion? It’s literally just a Stars and Stripes with a swastika incorporated into the middle of it.

„Hidden“ – Really? Total garbage, the people who put it up knew exactly what it was and what they were doing.

The Republican Party is quite literally permitting nazis to reside in its ranks.

    13. This is the excuse they’re going with? It’s the most ‚don’t trust your lying eyes‘ thing I think I’ve ever seen, it’s insulting really that they think this is a good excuse.

    14. invalidpassword on

It appears to be a part of the 2025 plan. Many, myself included, never thought the end would come to fruition — instead of being appalled by Nazism, they seem to be embracing it. I wonder if copies of *Mein Kampf* have been flying off the bookshelves lately. Younger Americans have been buying into the lie that the Holocaust wasn’t as bad as it’s made out to be. Maybe it’s a good thing procreation is down in the US.

    15. amanam0ngb0ts on

So on top of saying they love hitler, want to gas their opponents, and having literal swastikas in their offices, they check all the boxes actual definition of fascism:

      >1. Powerful, often exclusionary, populist nationalism centered on cult of a redemptive, “infallible” leader who never admits mistakes.

Check. Trump is a populist, nationalist, infallible leader.

      >2. Political power derived from questioning reality, endorsing myth and rage, and promoting lies.

Endorses the Christian myth, the “great America” myth, and promotes lies constantly about all manner of things (like left-wing violence being a major issue right now when the data says it is not).

      >3. Fixation with perceived national decline, humiliation, or victimhood.

This was basically his whole schtick. It’s what MAGA stands for: returning to greatness from our national decline. The victimhood of white people not being able to voice abhorrent and sexist/racist/classist sentiments without backlash.

      >4. White Replacement “Theory” used to show that democratic ideals of freedom and equality are a threat. Oppose any initiatives or institutions that are racially, ethnically, or religiously harmonious.

Well. They’re actively dismantling DEI, actually about to dismantle a fucking constitutional amendment, and have explicitly endorsed white replacement theory.

      >5. Disdain for human rights while seeking purity and cleansing for those they define as part of the nation.

For example his hate of Islam in America. He says immigrants “poison our national blood,” called them “vermin.” He called for us to return to our “roots” and consistently touted “non-foreign born” Americans as being real Americans that were the best version of America. He is building concentration camps like Alligator Auschwitz where people are disappearing, and being abused. They are summarily killing Venezuelans on boats without any oversight and while providing no evidence. His administration has denied American citizens and immigrants alike of their constitutional right to Due Process.

      >6. Identification of “enemies”/scapegoats as a unifying cause. Imprison and/or murder opposition and minority group leaders.

      Immigrants, universities, “ANTIFA”

      >7. Supremacy of the military and embrace of paramilitarism in an uneasy, but effective collaboration with traditional elites. Fascists arm people and justify and glorify violence as “redemptive”

Hegseth’s entire schtick. ICE is literally arming people and glorifying the violence they perpetrate on their social media.

      >8. Rampant sexism.

“Grab em by the pussy.” Just one of like a million examples of his sexism.

      >9. Control of mass media and undermining “truth”.

Press corps walked out of the pentagon today. He already replaced the White House press corps with unserious journalists from friendly media, and banned “un-friendly” media. He’s defunded NPR and PBS, etc.

      >10. Obsession with national security, crime and punishment, and fostering a sense of the nation under attack.

Hmm, hasn’t he declared that multiple US cities are War Zones, and sent the national guard and ICE against those states wishes?

      >11. Religion and government are intertwined.

His recent EO on Columbus Day is one of many examples of trying to tie together America with Christianity.

      >12. Corporate power is protected and labor power is suppressed.

He’s dismantled unions for government workers, fired them in droves, and is accepting bribes to support massive mergers that make our economy less competitive than ever.

      >13. Disdain for intellectuals and the arts not aligned with the fascist narrative.

Did he not shakedown Columbia, Harvard, MIT, etc., for this exact reason?

      >14. Rampant cronyism and corruption. Loyalty to the leader is paramount and often more important than competence.

I mean we have Homan literally on film taking a bribe, and he’s still in the administration. You have Jared Kushner making billions from deals with the Saudi, for access to Trump. You have him shaking down other world leaders and corporations via threats of war, tariffs, etc, in exchange for gifts, favors, etc.

      >15. Fraudulent elections and creation of a one-party state.

Tried to overthrow the 2020 election, claiming it was fraudulent. He’s endorsed the current Republican Party takeover of all branches of government. He’s rigging the map electorally to lock in power for republicans in states like Texas and Missouri and NC (and likely more to come).

    16. JustRegularType on

Lol it wasn’t a god damn magic eye poster, it was clear as day. If that doesn’t draw your eye immediately, you’re legally blind.

We know they’re lying, as always.

    17. I’ve got some oceanfront property in Arizona to sell ya if you believe they didn’t know before they proudly displayed it

    18. The optical illusion is that a percentage of Americans can’t see the Nazi problem in this administration. Clear as day if you open your eyes.

    19. LostGazer151 on

Multiple offices got them and no one said anything? So they’re either all lying or they’re all dumb as rocks.

    20. clintgreasewoood on

You just mail shit to republicans and they will just hang it on their walls with no questions or concerns?

    21. AaronBHoltan on

“Stop calling us Nazi’s”. Then promptly asks us to ignore racist genocidal texts and Nazi paraphernalia.

    22. NoCoffee6754 on

For all the cries of flag burning and “our America” they sure do like to alter the American flag a lot. The thin blue or red line flags and now this. They want a new country built on the corpse of the old one and there is no denying it anymore.

    23. Holy fuck are they really going with „they tricked us into displaying swastikas“?

      What absolute irredeemable filth

    24. The flag we all saw behind that staffer had no „optical illusions“ in it. The swastika was literally in the middle of the flag and clear as day. You couldn’t look at the flag without seeing the swastika…

      Come on.

    25. It’s a weird optical illusion where only old racists can’t see the swastika.

    26. Ok-Vegetable-8170 on

      “Report”

      You mean claim.

You mean lie by a political party that lies all the time.

    27. Unhinged_Platypoos on

If this truly is an optical illusion, I’d appreciate a full explanation as to how it functions – the materials it involves, the exact conditions under which it can be seen, and a replication of this effect on a different piece of fabric with a full demonstration as to how it is possible that it creates this illusory effect. We should understand this optical illusion phenomenon in detail and make the public aware of the possibility so that this doesn’t happen again or to others.

    28. diphenhydrapeen on

„I was just so blinded with patriotism that I didn’t even notice the swastika!“

    29. kinglouie493 on

I don’t believe that’s what an optical illusion is, that seems like the designed logo

    30. SillyFalcon on

Seems like a bunch of Republican politicians and credulous journalists don’t have the faintest idea what the term *optical illusion* means. There’s no trick here – you’re seeing something printed on a pice of paper.
