    1. And here I thought Florida was going to start the Civil War this time. Wheels beats Puddin‘ Fingers to the punch.

    2. Wow, so happy the brave Texas National Guard will be protecting their state from grandmas holding signs.

When these ghouls say a peaceful protest has got to be antifa terrorists, what did they think J6 was?

And this is why these protests need to start being non-violent AND obstructive to commerce.

All successful protests movements in this country have been obstructive to commerce. The people in power will come after us when we push for change no matter how non-violent we are. But when we start hurting the pocketbooks of businesses – business owners who are by and large on the right – start pushing for change as well.

All those *big, brave* National Guards deployed to stand among the *dangerously* dancing frogs, unicorns, axolotls and T-Rexes. đź‘€

Well, I guess he has some husky boys coming back from blue state deployments that he can send.

My 70 year-old husband is going to our local protest at the courthouse. He has yet to miss a single one. Luckily, our governor is Newsom because I worry about him. He has health issues that make him unstable but that doesn’t stop him from participating in what we feel is a noble cause and helps reduce some of the helplessness many of us feel as of late.

Let’s just hope that Neil Young doesn’t have to write another song.

The same Texas national guard that was sent home from Chicago because they weren’t aesthetically alpha enough?

So glad they’ll be there to protect us from people in chicken suits

Oh no the government doesn’t want me to exercise my right to peaceably assemble and to speech so now I better not assemble or speak.

Based on Republican reaction, I’m guessing 20-25 million are showing up to these. Maybe more?

They won’t be able to deploy enough for the amount of people that are protesting this Saturday.

    14. HallucinogenicFish on

Huh. Apparently they CAN be called out to protests. Good to know, we could have actually used them on January 6

    15. Vet here. Don’t give these people what they want. If you see National Guard on Saturday, give them a wave, a smile, a bottle of water and thank them with something they’re not expecting – „We really appreciate you all being here to protect us while we exercise our constitutionally protected rights and freedoms.“

Trust me, they don’t want to be there.

    16. Correct me if I am wrong. The other “No Kings” protests were people walking the streets with signs. There has been zero violence, zero need for law enforcement, simply people walking, exercising their 1st amendment right.

Yes I understand free speech is under attack.

Yes I understand the constitution is being ignored.

Yes I understand it’s not about truth or laws.

Same guy who shipped migrants a few years ago by the bus load to blue cities and is now sending national guard to the same cities to deport them. This was always the plan!

    18. Reminder : they want there to be trouble and are so mad they aren’t getting it

Must suck to be in the Texas National Guard.  You gotta leave your family and job to go stand around a fence in the West Texas desert for a few weeks, then stand around in LA for a few weeks, then stand around in Chicago for a few weeks, now you gotta go back to Texas and watch grown adults in inflatable frog costumes walk down the street.

What a dumb fucking waste of everyone’s time.  Abbott is such a piece of shit.
