    1. FYI: Usually, more than 105-107 boys per 100 girls imply selective abortion

    2. It is funny to observe selective abortion in one region and dont observe in neighboring one. For example, in Qax no selective abortion happens (91 boys vs. 100 girls.) whereas in Sheki it happens (118 boys vs. 100 girls). Even more interesting is nakhchivan region, most of raions experience selective abortion with exception for Kangarli raion and Nakhchivan city where allegedly male-selective abortion happens (87 boys vs. 100 girls), but it is hard to believe. Perhaps it is just AzStat screwing up the things. Forget to mention another anomaly, Yevlakh (85 boys per 100 girls).

Rural areas experience lower rates of selective abortion, I guess it is due to accessibility level of health services.
