The chat posts are exactly „on brand‘ for the Republican party, these folks just got caught saying the quiet part out loud.

    2. OpenImagination9 on

Not sure why anyone is surprised, this is how their parents raised them.

    3. JukeboxpunkOi on

Those comments will stick with them should they ever decide to return to politics

I really don’t understand why people are so shocked about this. Young Republicans have always said things like this in private.

    5. They’ll probably get fast tracked into office. This rhetoric is very on brand for republicans.

    6. Was raised in an evangelical/Reagan house. This is how they’ve always talked amongst themselves

Why do I get downvoted when I say that sad truth behind gop’s existence is that fact that white supremacists hide within conservative circles, vote red, down the line, and have literally put forth politicians to run o n their agenda, they even endorse „gop“ politicians all the time.

    8. Republicans are proud of being the descendants of people who took a land by doing a genocide on its inhabitants, of course they are Hitler fans.

This is what the Reoublican party is. They have been for quite a while. Why is this even a discussion??? I am very confused by this. They were talking like this 20ish years ago. Its only gotten worse. Are we seriously gonna pretend that we didnt know this?

    10. Trump gave conservatives permission to remove the mask. This is just further evidence of this. They feel emboldened now so expect more of this in the future.

    11. These people are the ones who will swear up and down they are righteous christians.

    12. Calls to resign only work on people capable of shame. Republicans are incapable of shame

    13. Here’s what will happen:

“Something something jesus, something something locker room talk, something something democrats need to turn down the rhetoric.”

Then nobody remembers this in a week because 9 more insane things will happen in that time.

Rinse and repeat ad infinitum. Welcome to our modern hell.

    14. I guarantee you, they don’t regret what they said, they regret getting caught.

They told us who they are, and what they think is „funny“ believe them when they tell you they’ll laugh while carrying it out.

    15. UselessInsight on

These are just the ones who got caught.

I promise you, a LOT of GOP staffers are just like this.

They’re not upset about the Nazi shit. They’re upset someone ratted them out.

    16. Some of them already have resigned.

Meanwhile, Republicans across the country are fake-condemning them, while secretly panicking about their own private chats potentially getting leaked.

    17. Resign? They just did the equivalent of a gateway drug in MAGA world and will now be credibly in the running for one or more of the following:

      – millions in GoFundMe dollars
      – a cabinet position in the Trump regime
      – TV pundit on various state cable networks

But it’s who the Republicans are. Let their ugly hang on the outside. Let it flap in the breeze for everyone to see. Nobody is surprised… So let them say these things… Make them say these things in public.

    19. „Calls to Resign?“… really?

You all know in your hearts that the vast majority of „Young Republicans“ join, precisely to legitimize those „vile“ things and thinking they’ve been hiding alongside, under the rocks… for years…

    20. Oddlyinefficient on

Resign? Why would they? This type of shit makes you a leader in their party. Worst case scenario for them is they resign and end up going on Newsmax and Turning Point shit complaining about how they were cancelled by wokeness. This behavior isn’t a bug, it’s a feature for Republicans.

    21. I_Enjoy_Beer on

Gonna go out on a limb here and guess they will refuse to resign.

This is the GOP. Adjust accordingly.

    22. Radic_Allef_Tist on

„…stands in direct opposition to the values we represent.“

Christian white nationalist pedo-protecting fascist says what?

    23. accidentsneverhappen on

Lol all the Republicans saying „we are shocked to hear about the language used in these messages and that’s not who we are!“

No, that’s exactly what you are and you all know it

    24. The fact that seeing calls to resign shows how ignorant people are to what’s going on. We are not in normal times. There is no decorum anymore. They aren’t going to listen, and quite frankly, they have no reason to until someone can actually give them one.

    25. LysanderAmairgen on

If people are getting fired for quoting Kirk they should be fired for… **checks notes** being Nazis.

    26. Republicans elders, alarmed at the crude and open racist and Nazi expressions of their younger party leaders, are calling for new standards in their rhetoric: “Guys, you can’t act like this. You’re making us look bad. You need to turn on ‘disappearing messages.’”

    27. Resign? This probably made them a lock in whatever race they will run in the future.
