Prove it. You literally can’t. All we can say is climate change will contribute to more frequent heat events as time goes by. 10 years ago the media was careful to point that out now it’s a direct link to climate change. Complete hogwash. Climate change is real btw and a big problem.

Well, when accounting for the number of trees in Canada, we are carbon neutral. So, the rest of the world should really stop doing that.

    3. I can already hear people’s claim that there’s no proof of both being linked.

Seriously they are ready to do anything to defend the big corporations and billionaires ruining this planet.

Probably the coolest summer we’ve had in Calgary in a long time. Rained so much until August. Don’t think we hit above 30 more than a couple days.

    5. We know. But the people who can do anything about it don’t care, don’t believe, or figure they’ll be dead before the worst hits us and are here to profit off our misery.

Tell us something we don’t know.

what’s crazy is my kids school doesn’t have AC. everyone acts like it’s normal because the premiere keeps cutting funding to education.

    7. We were quite lucky…not much for smoke..north east wind blu it every where else
..even though we wre 200 miles from it …just trying to make light of ..fuck it’s too late..climate is changed

    8. Autumn has been disappointing in southern Ontario; lack of summer rain made most of the colorful leaves dull, over half of the trees still have green leaves, salmon run is delayed because of the warmth, the first half of October had too many days over 20 degrees Celsius (preferably after October daytime highs shouldn’t be really over 15 degrees)

    9. I was on vacation in Fiji and it was colder there this summer. We are fucked.

    10. It was super hot this year. I am in Southwestern Ontario.
I remember 5 years ago (2020) we didnt even have AC. We just survived a few days of 28 degree nights.

2021, it was a bit hot, so we are like okay maybe next year let’s get AC. We just got those small fans where you can put some ice on it and it was alright. Bill was $25 coz the fans didnt use that much power.

2022, the small fans werent working on some nights. we got an AC, but we really only used it for like a month. Hydro (power) bill was still around $40 (normally $30).

2023, we started to use the AC for more than 2 months. Hydro was still $40, because the nights were still bearable, just humid.

2024, we were using the AC almost every day. Hydro came up to $50, with a couple of weeks where we used the AC continuously. The AC didnt struggle because nights were still around 18 or 20.

2025 – this year was brutal. My smart plug recorded that from July to end of September, we were using the AC 24/7, including nights. This summer was unbearably hot, even for nights. Some night were 32 degrees (!!) and for the first time, we were still using our AC up until kast week, (which is the first week of October). Our hydro bill went up to $100 per month, which is 4x the hydro bill on winter 2020, that we had to triple check our billing for errors. But no, we were just using so much more electricity because of the AC. The rate was almost the same.

Def not looking forward to 2026 summers. We may need to move up north to escape the hot and humid summers. Being in between two lakes doesnt help, either lol.

I really wish they explained HOW they linked them. The article just said that they were.
