      As someone who works with children with autism, this is heart breaking. The support these employees give is invaluable.

      Once again this admin shows their lack of care for anyone besides themselves.

      Trump thinks special needs and handicapped individuals are a drag on society and should be left to die. Look up what he told his nephew who has a son with special needs and requires a lot of extra help. Trump basically told him to let the kid die so he could move to Florida. Trump thought it was a waste giving his nephew money to care for his kid. Trump continues to be a scumbag that only cares about himself at every moment. There’s not a caring bone in his body.

      All the federal laws are still in place around IDEA students. Even if you don’t have a kid in special Ed your child will be affected because they are still required to do these services. Now they will just have to take funding from general education to pay for these staff. So be prepared for your kid to soon be in classrooms of 50+ kids.

      Watched my autistic nephew light up over his first adaptive tech grant last year, only for this admin to torch the folks who make that magic happen. „Restoring greatness“ my ass—straight-up cruelty dressed as fiscal sense.

      Think about this: Trump said he is going to cut democrat agencies and policies. Then this happened. The cutting and defunding of special education.
      1. He thinks providing for special needs children is a democrat thing
      2. The same people who get angry when the government gives money to Allies, poor countries, etc and says we need to take care of our own people are silent when we don’t take care of our own.

      People with disabilities matter.
      I didn’t know I’d have a child with autism. But I love him. He’s so smart. He loves with passion. He feels every emotion, probably stronger than most. He has hobbies. He has friends. He deserves to be safe, have support and opportunities in life. What the Trump administration is doing is sick. Maybe not this year, but they are going to hunt down special needs people just like they are immigrants, citizens who warn them and others who defy their executive orders and court cases ignored by the Supreme Court. Protect your families.
