    1. I feel like I’m having Deja vu…I really do hope for peace even if history suggests it’s unlikely.

    2. Based on this comment section arguing over what a prisoner is I’m sure peace in the Middle East is right around the corner.

    3. I was not expecting that number to be so high compared to the Israeli number…

    4. I was like, what a biased, intentionally misleading heading. Source? Timesofisrael.com. Ah.

    5. Book this comment and remember it in the coming months and years: this is a false peace and things will escalate dramatically in the Middle East of which we’ve never seen before

Do we expect them to flip-flop and suddenly be peaceful towards Israel now?

    7. I seriously doubt they were true „terrorists.“ Many people were labeled as terrorists based on relatively minor evidence to justify their imprisonment. Israel doesn’t seem like the kind of place that wouldn’t vet the prisoners before releasing them.

    8. How can there be peace when the opposing sides want what the other side will never give?

    9. The comments in here just confirm the average person has no clue about the history of the conflict. Can’t expect them to, I guess, but it’s goddamn depressing.

In other words, the fight against Hamas isn’t over. The „permanent ceasefire“ is guaranteed to be temporary, because with these terror convicts released, Israel is in a more dangerous position than it was before October 7. Anyone who denies this is either naive or simply wants more Jews to die.

Furthermore, Hamas has quickly refilled its ranks with tens of thousands of volunteers, mostly youth radicalized by our strategic bombing. The world failed to let Israel finish its job, so let all the Palestinians and their supporters know that Gaza will be not only retaken, but resettled next time.

On one hand this ratio show how each side values the member of their community.

On the other hand, I can’t even imagine the next plotting these released persons will do to draw everything back to disarray.

    12. Step 1: Get the hostages home

Step 2: Wait for another Hamas provocation

Step 3: Attack Hamas again without internal resistance since there are no more hostages.

Released to the battle field to be destroyed in another month. Prison seems like a better option.

What could possibly go wrong with releasing convicted terrorists?

    15. Whelp. I give it less than two years before this blows out into an even bigger war. Enough time for Hamas to restructure and reorganize themselves and stock their ammunitions.

I’d love to be wrong but snakes are just… snakes.
